The Centre for Health Policy has a vibrant new website
18 September 2013
The Centre for Health Policy (CHP)in the Wits School of Public Health is proud to reveal its new website showcasing the work of this multidisciplinary research unit which strives to promote excellence in health policy and systems research.
The dynamic website was developed by the Wits Health Consortium with photography by Brett Eloff. Scrolling photographs on the home page illustrate the work of CHP and the health system in action. The layout was expressly designed to be visibly appealing and more user-friendly with minimal ‘click throughs’ to facilitate navigation.
Items such as ‘Who we are’, ‘What we do’ and ‘Latest news’ are displayed prominently, while the main menu items contain staff contact details, CHP’s research projects and publications, the teaching agenda for the Master of Public Health degree, as well as news and events.
“We hope our new website will invite people to explore the world of health policy and systems research, an emerging field that helps to understand what health systems are and how they operate,” said CHP Director, Dr Jane Goudge. “The primary focus of our work is to support the development of the South African health system, which we do through independently funded research projects as well as commissioned research for the South African government and other organisations.”
CHP has been around for nearly 25 years, and is one of the Medical Research Council’s extramural research units based at Wits University.
