Saira Abdulla's Review on PHASA 2023

Attending my second PHASA conference was a fantastic experience. I had the opportunity to chair and judge a poster session, as well present an oral and poster presentation. Together with a group of PhD fellows, we started the PHASA Public Mental Health Special Interest Group. As part of the SIG, we conducted a skills-building workshop on including people with mental conditions in decision-making processes. This was really exciting as I went from attending SIG sessions at the PHASA conference in 2022 to now facilitating a workshop with my colleagues. One of my other highlights of the conference was the AI sessions, and how technology like ChatGPT (amongst others) can be used responsibly in public health. Overall, the sessions were very informative, and I enjoyed networking with fellow peers.
