Community health workers and the management of hypertension

In South Africa, clinical management of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes is often poor. Community health workers (CHWs) have played an important role in providing effective HIV and TB care, but there is little evidence on the effectiveness of their role in managing hypertension and diabetes.
